GE IS200JPDHG1A: Advanced Power Distribution System for Industrial Controls

IS200JPDHG1A|GE Mark VI Printed circuit board

The IS200JPDHG1A is a PCB component created by General Electric as part of the Mark VI system. The Mark VI was released by GE as part of its Speedtronic line for gas turbine and steam turbine management, which began with the release of the Mark I in the 1960s. The Mark VI is typically powered by a 125Vdc battery system. However, it can be powered from a 120/240VAC supply, using a power converter with an isolation transformer to rectifying the power to 125Vdc. For gas turbines, the ignition transformer requires a separate power supply with short circuit protection of 20A or less.

The IS200JPDHG1A is a high density power distribution card. The board provides a separate protected control power supply for each I/O packet. Multiple IS200JPDHG1A boards can be Daisy chained together using J1 and J1X connectors; However, when doing so, the input current cannot exceed the rating of the first JPDH J1 plug. The IS200JPDHG1A can be used in a number of hazardous locations, including Class 1 Zone 2, Class 1 Zone 2, and ATEX. The user must follow the wiring and maintenance requirements of UL/ATEX HazLoc.

The IS200JPDHG1A has 24 varistors divided into 3 rows of 8 each. It has 24 2-position plugs arranged in three rows of 8 each (JR1-JR8, JS1-JS8, JT1-JT8). The board also has three additional 2-position plugs, labeled JR5, JS5, and JT5. It has two 6-digit plugs labeled J1 and J1X. For more information about the board and its components, see the GE publication GEI-100861.

IS200JPDLG1A|Mark VI printed circuit board

The IS200JPDLG1A is a GE component created for the Mark VI system. The Mark VI was one of GE’s last management systems for gas and steam turbines, released as part of the Speedtronic family. This series of turbine management systems has been researched, developed and successfully released by GE for three decades. The Mark VI included some of the best parts of these early systems (such as triple redundancy control) and at the time of its release had technological advances such as Ethernet communication capabilities and a Windows platform PC used as an HMI (operator interface).

The IS200JPDLG1A is a switchboard. JPDL boards are sometimes referred to as “Skinny” boards because of their size. The IS200JPDLG1A provides DC distribution between the control power supply (usually a JPDS or JPDP board) and multiple I/O packages. The IS200JPDLG1A boards can be Daisy chained together. The board is used to provide organized control power separation by providing isolated distribution circuits for the TMR system.

The IS200JPDLG1A has six varistors mounted on the board, alternating with six I/O connectors. These connectors are Mate-n-Lock connectors, labeled JR1/JR2, JS1/JS2, and JT1/JT2. At both ends of the board, there are two larger 5-pin Mate-N-Lock connectors. The JL1 connector is the input and JL2 is the output. The input power supply is usually 28 VDC.

IS200JPDMG1A|The switchboard is a control system for GE’s Mark VI turbine

The IS200JPDMG1A is a PCB component manufactured by General Electric for use in Mark VI systems. The Mark VI is part of the Speedtronic gas turbine and steam turbine management series, which has been in use for decades. The MKVI is one of the most advanced products in the family and includes features such as Ethernet communication, triple redundant control configuration within the control module and an HMI operator interface, all built around a PC running on the Windows platform. The Mark VI family to which the IS200JPDMG1A switchboard PCB product belongs must be described as a very unique feature upgrade to the previously established Mark V family of turbine control systems with the same full extended family name. This particular product family avoids possible applications for alternative energy wind turbines introduced in the upcoming Mark VI series. The Mark VI series of this IS200JPDMG1A switchboard product has a separate appeal in its general promotional market, as it is one of the final Mark product families developed by GE to use the patented Speedtronic control system technology in different options.

Hardware tips and specifications

The IS200JPDMG1A is a switchboard, as revealed by its industry nickname JPDM. The board consists of two 50-pin connectors (P1/P2.) and 12 fuses distributed in three rows. The board has a DC62 female connector (JA1) that can be used in combination with PPDA I/O packages. The IS200JPDMG1A board has two terminals, which are placed on opposite sides of the PCB. These terminals provide access to three separate power buses. The maximum input for each screw located on the terminal is 35 amps. The IS200JPDMG1A has a total of 13 plugs, including 3 9-bit plugs, 7 2-bit plugs and 3 6-bit plugs. The board also includes:

Four varistors
Three inductors
transistor
Various resistors
And numerous capacitors

The IS200JPDMG1A is mounted using DIN rail. In terms of mounting size, the switchboard is relatively small at 6.5 inches x 7 inches. The GE publication GEI-100613 will provide more information on the specification, diagnosis, operation, and installation of JPDM boards. Technical support for the IS200JPDMG1A is provided by General Electric. Our team will be happy to provide a shipping quote for your order according to your requirements. AX Control can ship to any part of the world that is not currently affected by the US embargo. This IS200JPDMG1A switchboard product does further benefit from its GE original manufacturing, as it has the IS200JPDMG1A switchboard feature product number, which is specially designed, Used to describe a number of key IS200JPDMG1A switchboard hardware components and component elements through a series of stacked functional naming elements. For example, the IS200JPDMG1A functional product number here begins with an example of a dual-function IS200 series label that specifies the normal Mark VI series components of that IS200JPDMG1A product, located above its more standard domestic GE manufacturing location.
